Job summary

NextGen Teachers is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a newly established SEND provision in Andover. You will support a single pupil with complex needs, helping access learning, regulate emotions and develop social and academic progress in a calm, nurturing setting.

The role is full-time, starting 7 September 2026, with a positive team environment, small class sizes and strong safeguarding. Prior SEN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH needs in a school setting.
• Track record of assisting pupils with emotional regulation and learning.
• Ability to work 1:1 with a pupil in a calm, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
• Help the pupil access lessons and engage with learning in a calm, supportive manner.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to the wider school community.
