Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 SEN support across Kirklees primary schools. You will work closely with pupils who have ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs to help them stay engaged and safe in class.

The role requires patience, calmness under pressure, and the ability to follow personalised support plans with teachers and the SENCO. Experience in SEN or behaviour support is desirable, and an Enhanced DBS is part of the application

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN, behaviour support or similar settings.
• Calm, patient and able to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Able to follow personalised support plans confidently.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Manage challenging behaviour using school behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies.
• Support emotional regulation and help pupils stay calm, focused and engaged.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and learning styles.
• Assist with classroom routines including transitions and group work.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to follow personalised support plans.
