Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Sheffield is seeking experienced education professionals to support 1:1 SEN students across primary and secondary settings in various schools around Sheffield. You will adapt lessons, monitor progress, and liaise with teachers and SENCO to deliver inclusive learning.

The role requires prior 1:1 SEN support, knowledge of KS1–KS4 curricula, and commitment to pupil progression. DBS check is required/enhanced DBS typical; weekly pay; temporary position.

Qualifications

• Experienced with 1:1 SEN support in schools.
• Knowledge of KS1–KS4 curricula relevant to your sector.
• Committed to promoting progression of pupils’ learning.
• DBS checks required and compliance with safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pupil in understanding and completing classroom tasks.
• Adapt learning materials to meet the pupil’s needs.
• Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver inclusive activities.
• Liaise with SENCO and professionals involved in the pupil’s support.
• Encourage positive peer interactions and group participation.
• Foster a safe, nurturing learning environment.

We’re looking for educators, who are wanting to work 1:1 with SEN students to join one of our multiple schools around Sheffield!

• Weekly pay

• Hours: 8:30 - 15:30
• EYFS and Primary

Responsibilities:

• Assist the pupil in understanding and completing classroom tasks and activities.
• Adapt learning materials and teaching methods to meet the pupil’s specific needs.
• Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher to deliver differentiated and inclusive learning activities.
• Liaise regularly with the SENCO and other professionals involved in the pupil’s support.
• Encourage the pupil to interact positively with peers and participate in group activities.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that enables success.

Role requirements

• Has experience working 1:1 with SEN students, SEN qualifications are preferable
• Has experience working within the Primary or Secondary Sector.
• Has knowledge of relevant KS1- KS4 Curriculums (dependant on the sector you specialise in).
• Committed to promoting progression of pupils learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
