Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 pupil in Winterbourne. The child has complex behavioural and SEMH needs and spends much of the day outside the classroom.

The role emphasises patience, consistency, and calm under pressure to build a positive relationship. Start is ideally in September, with possible earlier start to support a smooth transition.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience working with children with SEN, particularly SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.
• Two references covering a 24-month period are requested.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Help the pupil engage with learning in and out of the classroom.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SEND team, and external professionals.
• Create a predictable, supportive environment for the pupil to thrive.
