Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a SEN Provision Teaching Assistant for a role in Bloxwich, near Walsall. You will provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence within a SEND provision.

You will collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to support behaviour, and to develop the pupil's social and emotional skills, with ongoing training and real impact on a child’s educational journey.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Understanding of supporting pupils with SEN or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.
• Positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
