Job summary

Academics are working with a welcoming primary school in Slough that is looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

As a 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant, you'll deliver tailored interventions to a pupil with additional learning needs, work with teachers and the SEN team, and help remove barriers to learning.

Salary is 90–95 per day, with Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm hours.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in education, childcare, youth work, or care settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 interventions to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Adapt classroom activities to suit the pupil's learning style and ability.
• Encourage independence, confidence and active participation in lessons.
• Support emotional wellbeing and promote positive behaviour strategies.
• Monitor progress and share observations with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Work collaboratively with school staff and parents to provide consistent support.

Your Role

As a 1:1 SEN Intervention Assistant, you'll work closely with an individual pupil, delivering personalised support throughout the school day. You'll collaborate with teachers and the school's SEN team to remove barriers to learning and help the child achieve both academically and personally.
