Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in Sedgley, Dudley. This full-time role begins after October Half Term and runs through Christmas 2026, supporting a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support, promote engagement in tasks, and help develop emotional regulation and social skills while working with the class teacher and SENCO. A TA Level 2/3 qualification and SEND experience are required.

Qualifications

• TA Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly SEMH needs, in a UK primary school.
• Good understanding of positive behaviour management and strategies to engage pupils.
• Experience providing 1:1 support and small group work.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs.
• Encourage engagement with learning activities and support task completion.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Deliver small group activities and targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
