Job summary

West Lothian Council is recruiting an Advanced Pupil Support Worker at Whitdale Primary School in Whitburn. The role is 12.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, on a fixed-term basis until 11 April 2027. The successful candidate will support pupils and work with teaching staff to promote pupil welfare.

You must register with the SSSC within six months and undergo PVG clearance; costs may be deducted from salary. This post is Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children/Protected Adults.

Qualifications

• Registration with the SSSC required within six months of starting.
• PVG Scheme check is required prior to employment, and the cost is met by the candidate.
• Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children/Protected Adults under PVG will apply.
• PVG fee (£59 or £18 for existing members) may be recovered from salary.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils at Whitdale Primary School as part of the student support team; assist teaching staff and contribute to pupil welfare.
