Job summary

The Education Network in Wolverhampton is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with autism and Down syndrome within a mainstream primary class.

You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt tasks, reinforce literacy and numeracy through visual resources, support communication, and help the child build confidence, independence and social skills from now until July 2027, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology or closely related discipline (2:2+).
• GCSE English and Maths grade 4/C or above.
• Enhanced DBS with children's barred list check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 assistance adapting tasks to learning targets.
• Reinforce literacy and numeracy using visual resources.
• Support communication using visual prompts and speech strategies.
• Help manage sensory needs and daily routines.
• Encourage social interaction and independence.
