Job summary

Exclusive Education Ltd is seeking a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil at a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Wirral, during school hours.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external agencies to implement the pupil's IEP, monitor progress and support personal, social, and emotional development. A nurturing, patient and proactive approach is essential, with DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• DBS check updated or willingness to apply for one.
• Recent childcare or school-based experience within the past two years.
• Two references confirming experience with children.
• Nurturing, patient and proactive approach to supporting children's learning.
• Experience providing one-to-one support for children with complex or additional needs is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored one-to-one support for a specific pupil in a mainstream primary school setting.
• Support the pupil's personal, social and emotional development.
• Monitor and record the pupil's progress, behaviour and engagement.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external agencies to deliver the pupil's individual education plan (IEP).
• Promote positive behaviour while building the pupil's confidence and independence.
