Job summary

Senploy is seeking an experienced Outreach Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a looked-after child living in a residential care home in Ilford. The role requires delivering 2 hours of tuition per day, Monday to Friday, focusing on English, Maths and Science, and adapting lessons to the learner's needs.

You'll build trust, support re-engagement with learning and work closely with care staff. An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) is preferred to ensure a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1:1 tutoring in a care setting.
• Ability to teach English, Maths and Science at appropriate levels.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition within a residential care home setting
• Teach core subjects including English, Maths and Science
• Plan and adapt lessons to suit the student's ability, learning style and needs
• Build a positive, consistent and trusting relationship with the student
• Encourage engagement, confidence and motivation towards learning
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback where required
• Work professionally alongside care staff and other professionals involved in the student's support
• Maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment
