Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around Ashford who have additional learning and behavioural needs.

You will create bespoke lessons to bridge learning gaps, boosting confidence and helping students reconnect with education, using a patient, adaptable approach and strong classroom management. This role offers flexible hours and meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• QTS, or an equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience.
• At least 6 months experience teaching or tutoring students.
• Strong understanding of the PMY/SEC curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Calm, supportive and positive learning environment.
• Patient, adaptable and encouraging approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete baseline assessments with the student to understand their individual needs.
• Plan and deliver tutoring sessions tailored to their needs.
• Provide support in core subjects including Maths, English and Science.
• Build the students confidence and encourage independence and positive study habits.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required.
