Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a 1:1 Non-Verbal Specialist Teaching Assistant in Wellingborough to support a primary school child who communicates without words. You will use alternative communication methods to unlock learning and foster inclusion.

The role is full-time with part-time options, offering a supportive team, ongoing training, and flexible working arrangements. Experience with SEND or non-verbal children is valued, and DBS checks are part of safeguarding standards.

Not every child communicates with words—but every child deserves to be heard.

We're looking for a caring, patient, and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal child 1:1 in a primary school setting. If you've worked with SEND children or used PECS, Makaton, AAC, or sign language, this could be the most rewarding role you take on.

What You'll Do:

• Support one child throughout the school day
• Use alternative communication tools to unlock learning
• Build confidence, independence, and social skills
• Work closely with teachers and specialists
