Job summary

Priority Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a Male Support Worker in East Cowick to provide 1:1 support to a 51-year-old gentleman living with a brain injury. The client is wheelchair user and needs help with daily living, personal care, moving and community access.

You will build trusted relationships while maintaining professional boundaries to promote independence. This part-time role requires patience, resilience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Previous care or support work experience.
• Experience supporting individuals with brain injuries (preferred).
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge (preferred).
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
• Experience with moving and handling or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Providing all aspects of personal care
• Supporting with moving and transfers using appropriate equipment and techniques
• Assisting with daily routines and activities
• Supporting community access and appointments
• Promoting independence and choice wherever possible
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Managing and responding appropriately to behaviours that may challenge
• Following care plans, risk assessments, and support strategies
• Maintaining accurate records and effective communication with the wider support team
