Based in the Kent countryside and close to the Cathedral city of Canterbury, Junior King’s is one of the most prestigious prep schools in the country. Within the heart of the school lies a strong sense of community. We recognise that every child has different strengths and talents, and we pride ourselves on nurturing and helping pupils to reach their true potential.

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child’s educational journey? We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive and dynamic school community.

In this vital role, you will work closely with a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them thrive. You’ll collaborate with teachers, the Head of Learning Support, and parents to ensure the pupil’s full inclusion in classroom life, while contributing to individual learning plans and progress tracking.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in SEND, strong communication skills, and a flexible, nurturing approach. Experience in an educational setting and a good standard of education (GCSEs in English and Maths minimum) are essential. Training is fully supported, and you’ll be encouraged to grow professionally within a school that values inclusive education and child wellbeing.

The King’s School offers an extensive rewards package, including:

  • Gold membership at The King School Sports Centre
  • Enhanced employer pension contributions up to 10%

Closing date for receipt of applications: 30 May 2025.

Interviews will be between 2 and 14 June 2025.

We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process which is in line with the statutory Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates.

All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
