Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil in a primary school in the Steyning area. This temporary maternity-cover role involves tailoring support to help the child access the curriculum and develop independence.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and parents, assisting with learning, mobility and personal care as required, including toileting. Lunchtime supervision is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a primary setting.
• Ability to provide personal care including toileting.
• Confident in supporting pupils with mobility needs and physical tasks.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work well in a team.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy and a genuine passion for helping children learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a KS2 pupil with additional needs.
• Help pupil access curriculum and participate in class activities.
• Support with mobility and physical needs and personal care as required.
• Assist with lunchtime supervision and routines.
• Monitor progress and report back to teacher and SENDCo.
• Collaborate with parents and other professionals as needed.
