Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in educational or similar setting.
  • Experience providing 1:1 support is desirable.
  • Patience, compassion and consistent in approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident working as part of a wider school team.
  • Enthusiastic about supporting academic, social and emotional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil within KS1.
  • Support the pupil with their learning, engagement and development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Adapt activities and provide appropriate support to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Build a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil.
  • Contribute to the wider classroom and school community when required.
