Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an ESOL Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 English language tuition to young people across Grays. The role focuses on developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and helping learners access the curriculum.

Ideal candidates will have QTS/PGCE or equivalent ESOL qualifications and at least 6 months' experience working with learners who are new to the UK education system, refugees or asylum seekers. A patient, adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have QTS/PGCE/CTCS or equivalent ESOL qualification and experience teaching English as an Additional Language.
• Minimum 6 months' experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting learners with English as an Additional Language.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Knowledge of language acquisition, literacy development, and effective EAL support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke ESOL tuition on a 1:1 basis to learners in Grays.
• Create, plan and deliver tailored lessons focusing on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Support learners in accessing the curriculum and progressing towards educational goals.
• Engage learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to build confidence in English.
