Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated English and Maths tutors to provide 1:1 support to Year 8 students in the Rotherham area. Sessions are weekly, 5 hours total, between 9am and 4pm, with a pay rate of GBP20–GBP30 per hour. Tutoring will focus on improving academic performance and confidence.

The role welcomes candidates with experience in 1:1 tutoring; QTS is desirable but not essential. DBS with update service is required, and safeguarding training should be current or be provided.

Qualifications

• QTS is desirable though not essential.
• Proven track record of improving student performance.
• Team Teach qualification is highly desirable but not required.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training is desirable; training can be provided if needed.
• DBS registered on the update service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions in English and Maths.
• Support students in improving academic performance and confidence.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
