Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Primary School Early Years 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a Walsall school, starting ASAP. You will work 1:1 with a pupil on the autism spectrum with low ability, collaborating with the class teacher to tailor activities and monitor progress.

The role emphasizes individualized support, emotional development, and inclusive teaching practices in a stimulating Early Years environment.

Qualifications

Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or ratio equivalent.
Experience working with children in a 1:1 setting is preferred.
Strong empathy and understanding of individual student needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents.
Patience and emotional support abilities; adaptable to evolving needs.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized 1:1 support to a pupil in Early Years.
Collaborate with the teacher to plan and deliver tailored lessons and activities.
Support academic, social and emotional development to boost confidence.
Create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment for the pupil.
Adapt teaching strategies and resources to suit the pupil's needs.
Assist with progress assessments and feedback to teacher and parents.
Foster positive relationships and clear communication with school and family.
Uphold school policies and safeguarding expectations.
