Job summary

TP Tutors in Darlington, DL1 is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Core Subject Tutor to support pupils with English, Maths and Science during school hours.

You will deliver tailored one-to-one tuition, assess learning needs, create personalised plans, and monitor progress while building positive relationships with pupils, parents and schools. DBS Update Service and right to work in the UK are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring English, Maths, and/or Science.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners on a 1:1 basis.

TP Tutors is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Core Subject Tutor to support pupils in the Darlington area. This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition in English, Maths, and Science, helping students build confidence, overcome learning barriers, and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Experience teaching or tutoring English, Maths, and/or Science.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners on a 1:1 basis.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Many pupils supported by TP Tutors require tailored educational provision. Tutors should be confident in building positive relationships, adapting their approach to meet individual needs, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and safeguarding at all times. Tutors must also be able to effectively plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the learner’s individual needs, monitor progress, and adapt teaching strategies to support positive outcomes.
