Veritas Education is seeking dedicated 1:1 Classroom Support staff to work across primary, secondary and specialist SEN settings in multiple full-time roles. You will provide one-to-one assistance to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and reach personal goals.

Ideal candidates have experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH, strong behaviour management, and a GCSE level in English and Maths. A DBS check is mandatory and a commitment to safeguarding is essential.

Veritas Education is working with a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEN settings, and we are looking for dedicated 1:1 Classroom Support to join our team in multiple full-time positions.

These roles involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs and communication difficulties. Depending on your experience and the setting, you could be providing structured learning support, nurture-based care or support for pupils who present with challenging or high-risk behaviours.

The Role:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their individual goals.

• Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment tailored to the pupil's needs.

• Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour and the de‑escalation of challenging situations.

• Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence and independence.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other support assistants to provide consistent, effective support.

• Adapt learning activities and strategies to meet individual educational, social and emotional needs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH or additional needs.

• Experience working on a 1:1 basis with pupils from early years through to secondary school age.

• Confidence using appropriate behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies.

• A good understanding of the National Curriculum and basic classroom learning strategies.

• Resilience, patience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.

• A genuine commitment to helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

• Level 2 English and maths (GCSE grade 4/C or Functional Skills).

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory.

• Experience working in a school environment is desired.
