Job summary

Milk Education is currently seeking a full-time SEND Learning Support Worker to assist a pupil across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Stockport. The role focuses on a patient, nurturing approach to meet individual learning needs and keep the child on task.

The post involves 1:1 support, resource preparation, and creating a supportive learning environment in collaboration with the teacher. Experience with SEND and autism is valued.

SEND Learning Support Worker - Stockport

Milk Education are working with a primary school in Stockport who are seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating to the child's learning needs for this SEND Teaching Assistant position.

This 1:1 TA role will involve keeping the child on task. You will also be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child's needs are met. In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Teaching Assistant - Role & Responsibilities:
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Work closely with a child with autism and meet their individual needs
  • Support the classroom teacher with child engagement and behaviour
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
Essential Qualifications:
  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND, ideally experience with autism
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
