Job summary

1:1 Learning Support Assistant / LSA (ASD) is required at a mainstream primary school in Devizes, Wiltshire, starting September. The role is full-time until the end of the academic year with potential to continue.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and support staff to help the pupil access learning, manage emotions and feel secure within the school environment. Salary: £95- £115 per day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD
• Confident managing challenging behaviour calmly
• Knowledge or experience of ABA, PECS and/or Makaton (highly desirable)
• Patient, resilient and proactive
• Can build strong, positive relationships
• Works well as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support within the classroom
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
• Adapting learning tasks to meet individual needs
• Implementing strategies from EHCP targets
• Liaising with staff and parents where appropriate
