Job summary

Lancashire County Council's Tor View Community Special School in Haslingden is seeking an Additional Needs Teaching Assistant Level 2 to work in the Intensive Support Centre. The role is primarily a 1:1 key worker, supporting teaching colleagues and delivering behaviour support programmes within a specialist ASC and severe learning difficulties setting.

The post is term-time only, 39 weeks per year, with a salary of £20,012 to £21,300; DBS clearance is required and full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Physically robust and assertive
• Resilient and able to cope with high physical demands
• Ability to employ Team Teach techniques
• Legal right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Act as a 1:1 key worker for pupils in the ISC
• Assist teaching colleagues with delivery of classroom and support activities
• Deliver behaviour support programmes and apply Team Teach techniques (full training provided)
• Support pupils with extreme challenging behaviour in a physically robust and assertive manner
