Job summary

Academics Agency is recruiting an ADHD Support Worker for a primary school in Eastbourne. This role focuses on 1:1 support to a pupil with ADHD, helping with focus, emotional regulation and engagement throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate will have experience with ADHD/SEN, be patient, calm and resilient, and able to build trusting relationships with children, staff and parents. A long-term opportunity with a supportive team is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEN or behavioural needs.
• Patient, calm and resilient in challenging situations.
• Able to build trusting relationships with children, families and staff.
• Consistent and confident when supporting challenging behaviour.
• Previous school, childcare, youth work or support experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with ADHD in a primary school.
• Support focus, concentration and engagement during lessons.
• Help with emotional regulation and social interaction.
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Encourage independence and confidence in the pupil.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to plan support.
