Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking Learning Support Assistants in the NP7 area to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and behavioural needs in a primary setting. The role requires patience, resilience, and the ability to follow tailored behaviour plans to help the pupil develop self-regulation and stay engaged.

The position is full-time with an September start and offers weekly pay. Integration is part-time/flexible during the term, with free CPD training and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ADHD and/or additional learning needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to implement structured routines and consistent boundaries.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, wellbeing, and SEND practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and behavioural needs.
• Support the pupil's attention, engagement, emotional regulation, and learning outcomes.
• Follow individual support plans, behaviour strategies, and risk assessments.
• Implement positive behaviour management techniques and consistent routines.
• Use de-escalation strategies to support challenging behaviours when required.
• Support transitions between activities and areas of the school.
• Adapt learning tasks to maintain focus, motivation, and participation.
• Use movement breaks, sensory strategies, and structured interventions to support concentration.
• Encourage independence, self-confidence, and positive social interactions.
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, parents, and external professionals.
