Axe Group in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is seeking a Workshop Technician – Quoting and Machining to contribute to cost estimation, technical preparation, and fine-tuning of manufacturing processes.

You will analyze customer drawings, assess feasibility, estimate machining times, define tooling, and develop CNC toolpaths. Proficiency in conventional and CNC machining, CAM programming, MAZATROL/HEIDENHAIN, and reading blueprints is required to join a growing team committed to high-precision production.

Qualifications

• Background in machining or manufacturing technology is required.
• Experience with precision mechanics and blueprints is essential.
• Knowledge of CAM programming and CNC tooling is highly valued.

WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN – QUOTING AND MACHINING – M/F

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be involved in both technical cost estimation and high-value-added machining operations.

Your role as a technician will be to contribute your workshop expertise to the cost estimation, technical preparation, and fine-tuning phases of the manufacturing process.

As such, your main tasks will be to :

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

• analyze customer drawings and technical documentation;
• assess the feasibility of manufacturing processes;
• estimate machining, setup, and inspection times;
• define the necessary means of production and tools;
• participate in the assessment of manufacturing costs;
• develop CNC toolpaths and programs;
• make adjustments and fine-tune the manufacturing processes;
• machine prototypes, pre-production parts, and complex parts;
• conduct technical checks and validations;
• Provide technical support to the production teams.

Your profile:

You have a background in machining or manufacturing technology (Bac Pro, BTS CPRP, or equivalent).

You have significant experience in precision mechanics and are proficient in:

• conventional and CNC machining;
• 3- to 5-axis machining centers;
• CAM programming;
• a programming language for turning and milling (such as MAZATROL and/or HEIDENHAIN);
• reading blueprints and metrology.

Experience in technical cost estimation, work planning, or machining methods is a plus.
