Acting as training expert, the person coordinates and delivers training initiatives from needs identification through learning design, development, delivery and promotion, working with subject matter experts, external training agencies, GS1 Member Organisations and Global Office teams. The role also supports the adoption of the global learning platform by ensuring that training content is visible, accessible and engaging for users.

In addition, the role provides project coordination support across the Global Office Training team. This includes maintaining visibility on project progress, key actions, risks and issues, facilitating regular team discussions, supporting collaboration and knowledge sharing, and helping team members identify practical solutions under the guidance of the Director.

Working closely with the Training team and colleagues across the GS1 Global Office and GS1 Member Organisations, the Training Manager helps ensure that training initiatives are well coordinated, aligned with GS1 priorities, responsive to the needs of the global GS1 community, and support the implementation of the GS1 Vision 2030 Strategy.

Responsibilities
Team Coordination & Project Oversight
  • Coordinate the Training team's project portfolio, ensuring alignment of timelines, resources and priorities across initiatives.
  • Collect and maintain a clear overview of project status, key actions, risks and mitigation measures.
  • Support the preparation and facilitation of regular team meetings to review progress, share updates and align on upcoming priorities.
  • Support team members in identifying practical solutions to operational challenges and elevate risks or decisions to the Director when required.
  • Help promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and consistency across the Training team.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director on project status, team progress and training effectiveness, ensuring transparent and ongoing communication.
  • Oversee training development projects end-to-end, coordinating contributors, external training agencies and third parties.
Training Development and Delivery
  • Conduct training needs analysis and develop training strategies for assigned initiatives and sectors, aligned with GS1 priorities and Vision 2030.
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of learning programmes and training materials, including e-learning courses, educational videos, infographics, PowerPoint presentations and other learning materials, in collaboration with external training agencies and subject matter experts from GS1 Member Organisation and Global Office.
  • Leverage existing resources and AI authoring tools to rapidly produce fit-for-purpose training content when quick development is required.
  • Facilitate virtual groups with training experts from Member Organisations to share best practices, identify common solutions and scale local learning materials.
  • Prepare and deliver in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Support the Training Team to prepare and deliver sessions at the GS1 global events.
  • Promote the adoption of the global learning platform and ensure that learning content is visible, accessible and engaging for users.
Expertise and Core Skills Requirements
  • Solid project management experience, including the ability to coordinate workstreams, manage risks and dependencies, manage external agencies, third parties and internal stakeholders in global and complex environments.
  • Experience in facilitating team meetings and dynamics, supporting follow-up and ensuring alignment across projects.
  • Strong experience in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of global training programmes, in person and online.
  • Strong knowledge of learning best practices, instructional design models, and curriculum planning.
  • Strong storytelling, writing, presentation, and visual communication skills; experience in storyboarding is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and experience with e-learning tools, including AI authoring tools.
  • Ability to create high-quality, fit-for-purpose learning content within short timelines and adapt content quickly to different training needs and audiences.
  • Ability to monitor project health, consolidate status updates and produce report updates.
  • University degree or equivalent, with 6+ years of relevant professional experience in training and project management.
  • Fluency in English, oral and written; additional languages are an asset.
Soft Skills Requirements
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to turn ideas into engaging learning experiences.
