Job summary

Sonoco in Paris offers a 6-month internship as a Trainee Transport Analyst. You will work on updating freight rates, pre-billing analyses, and data quality tasks while developing Supply Chain Management skills focused on transportation.

Qualifications

• MBA or Master in transportation, logistics, procurement, or data analytics.
• Minimum 2 years university degree in accounting/finance/controlling.
• Solid knowledge of transport environment and basic accounting management.
• Proficient in Excel and data tools; familiarity with SAP.
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills, adaptable to tools and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Update freight rates database using buyers' information.
• Pre-billing analysis and daily monitoring of reporting errors.
• Review and correct obsolete carriers and distances; standardize codes.
• Support plant on pre-billing tools and provide regular progress reports.

What you'll be doing :

Update freight rates database :

• Update rates according to buyers' information
• Corrections of obsolete carriers and equipment used
• Standardize postal codes and city names

Pre-billing analysis :

• Daily monitoring of reporting errors
• Analysis of manual price changes by plant
• Search and correction of wrong distances

Other tasks :

• Extraction of European fuel indexes (IRU)
• Occasional support to plant on the pre-billing tool
• Regular progress report of the internship and the objectives

During the internship, the student will develop Supply Chain Management skills with a focus on Transportation.

Technical skills

• The applicant shall have a good knowledge of the transport environment (including transport regulation fundamentals) and understand corporate accounting management.

Personal Qualities

• The Trainee Transport Analyst is rigorous and shows strong interpersonal skills. He/she has the ability to adapt to tools, procedures, working methods. Finally, he/she is reactive, curious, analytic and open to others.

Computer skills

• Office tools (email, spreadsheet program such as Excel (good level) “Excel Power Query, Power Automate, Power BI, Python is a plus”, presentation software such as PowerPoint ...)
• Knowledge in SAP is a plus

Foreign Languages

• French (intermediate to good level)
• English (native to fluent)
• German and / or Spanish would be a plus

University degrees

• MBA, Master or Degree in transportation, logistics, procurement, data analyst. Minimum 2 years university degree in accounting / finance controlling Graduate Business School

Compensation :

The annual base salary range is from 14400€ to 18000€.

The Pass Navigo is refunded by 50%.

Duration :

Starting date March 2026
