Job summary

Infinite Orbits in Toulouse invites a skilled Thermal Architect to lead the satellite thermal design and TCS development from concept through qualification. You will define architecture, perform thermal analyses, build models with SYSTEMA/ESATAN, and ensure allocation across subsystems.

Collaborating with systems, mechanical, electrical, and avionics teams, you will support SRR/PDR/CDR/QR milestones, run thermal testing, and manage supplier interfaces while advocating robust thermal performance

Qualifications

• Master's degree or engineering degree in thermal engineering, mechanical engineering, energy or aerospace engineering.
• Experience in space thermal engineering, ideally on geostationary satellites.
• Good knowledge of satellite Thermal Control Systems (TCS).
• Experience with SYSTEMA and/or ESATAN.
• Experience with satellite development and qualification processes and major project milestones (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR).
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage technical interfaces with suppliers.
• Autonomous, proactive and comfortable working in a startup and innovative project environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Define the satellite's thermal architecture and Thermal Control System (TCS).
• Perform and lead thermal analyses and develop associated thermal models using SYSTEMA / ESATAN.
• Define thermal requirements and ensure their allocation and follow-up across the various satellite systems and subsystems.
• Work closely with systems, mechanical, electrical and avionics teams.
• Contribute to the different development phases and major project milestones, including SRR, PDR, CDR and QR.
• Prepare and support thermal testing activities, and contribute to thermal model correlation.
• Manage technical interfaces with thermal hardware suppliers.
• Monitor and assess the thermal performance of COTS and internally developed equipment.
• Participate in design reviews, risk analyses and technical problem-solving throughout the development of the satellite.
