Exotrail is seeking a Test Engineer to lead testing activities for space systems and subsystems during development and qualification. You will contribute to electronics subsystems testing and learn skills in fluids and propulsion testing as you grow within the team.

Initially, you will organize the workload for the test engineering team, define qualification plans, and coordinate test campaigns with system engineers and partners. A driving license and strong English/French are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a similar role and test engineering experience.
• Fluent in French and English (B2).
• Hands-on with test equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, PSUs, sensors.
• Familiar with MIL-STD or ECSS standards.
• Driver's license (Permis B) required.
• Experience in vibration/shock testing.
• Experience in electronics testing for qualification (EMC).

Role Description

As a Test Engineer, you are responsible of the testing activities of space systems and subsystem along their development phase. You play a crucial role in concatenating and ensuring proper verification and validation through testing and qualification of the various Exotrail’s spaceware™ products.

Initially, you will contribute to the development and qualification electronics subsystems. Along your professional journey with us, you will learn skills linked to electronics, fluidics and propulsion testing.

Depending on your experience, you will be in charge of the organisation and distribution of the operational workload of the test engineering team.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Define and write the qualification test plan for system and sub-systems, in collaboration with system engineers and technical team.
• Translate qualification test plans into test specifications.
• Organise, coordinate and perform test campaigns.
• Ensure compatibility of the test material with the test bench.
• Installation of test setups.
• Follow-up of service providers and laboratory partners.
• Track, store and analyse test data.
• Produce test reports, trace detected anomalies and contribute to eventual investigation.
• Procurement and design of needed tools.
• Contribute to the standardization and amelioration of development and test processes.
• Ensure technical growth and development of the test engineering team.
• Organise and distribute the operational workload of the test engineering team.

Preferred Experience

• More than 7 years of experience in a similar position.
• Full proficiency in French and English (B2 minimum)
• Hands-on experience with test equipment, such as multimeter, oscilloscope, power supplies, pressure sensors, leak detectors.
• Familiar with MIL-STD or ECSS standards.
• Owing a driving license is required (Permis B).
• Previous experience in vibration and/or shock testing is required.
• Previous experience on electronics testing for qualification, such as Electro Magnetic Compatibility, is required.

The following are a plus

• Previous experience in thermal testing, such as TVAC.
• Hands-on experience in fluidic system testing, such as leak detection, pneumatic test, hydraulic test.
• Experience in electric propulsion or space hardware.
• Experience in vacuum technologies, such as vacuum chambers.
• Skills in Python coding.
