University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) invites applications for a Test & Automation Engineer. The role focuses on designing, building, and operating advanced thermal management experiments for aircraft, coordinating with engineers and computer scientists to develop control software, and guiding technicians in test setup and data analysis.

The candidate will size and select test rig components, perform engineering calculations, and communicate results to project teams and management.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering Technology.
• Five years of experience in fabrication and installation of laboratory and experimental apparatus; instrumentation and controls fundamentals.
• Proficient in machining and shop processes.
• Proficient in CAD software for generating electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Common sense fundamentals of machine design.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal government contracts.

Responsabilités

• Design, construct and operate novel thermal management experiments for aircraft.
• Coordinate with research engineers and computer scientists to develop control software for experiments.
• Direct and oversee work of technicians.
• Perform calculations to size and select test rig components.
• Communicate results to engineers and management.
