The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

Start date: September 1, 2026.

PRESENTATION OF TSE

TSE is part of the Toulouse Capitole University campus. Located in the heart of the city of Toulouse, it welcomes around 2,500 students and more than 150 faculty members in the fields of economics, mathematics and statistics, and quantitative social sciences.

We are seeking to hire a researcher with expertise in mathematical, statistical, or computational foundations of AI, with an interest in applications to economics and social sciences.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or expect to complete one by June 30, 2026, and demonstrate outstanding research potential and achievement, as well as excellent teaching abilities.

To receive full consideration, candidates should submit by November 21, 2025 the following package:

  • A cover letter,
  • A curriculum vitae,
  • A research statement (including links to publications and preprints, as well as a scientific project for the coming years),
  • A teaching statement,
  • Three letters of reference (to be submitted by the referees by November 21, 2025)

Online interviews will take place between December 8 and December 10, 2025. Campus visits will be organized in January and February 2026.
