Mesquite-ISD seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to install and maintain fire alarm systems, including Notifier and Firelite equipment. The role ensures system compliance and annual inspections.

The ideal candidate holds a current Texas Fire Alarm Technician license and can troubleshoot technical issues, communicate effectively, and coordinate with district staff for training and support.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: current State of Texas Fire Alarm Technician license (required).
• Licensed Fire Alarm Technician may receive additional compensation above minimum rate for active license.
• Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills; able to troubleshoot complex systems.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

• To be responsible for installation and maintenance of all fire alarm systems. Conduct annual fire alarm system inspections..

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• Possess a current State of Texas Fire Alarm Technician license (required)
• Licensed Fire Alarm Technician will receive additional compensation above minimum rate for confirmation of current/active fire alarm license.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• The ability to logically troubleshoot technical problems
• Effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills

EXPERIENCE:

• Direct experience in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems
• Direct experience in the installation and servicing of Notifier and Firelite equipment

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Responsible for installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems
• Provide technical assistance related to fire alarm systems issues
• Work with district administrators to ensure employees receive need support and training
• Perform other duties as assigned.
