Job description

DATA4'S MISSION

DATA4 creates Smart & Scalable digital facilities for our customers. Our network of highly connected, resilient and sustainable data center campuses underpins our customers’ digital growth in Europe.

DATA4 Group finances, designs, constructs and operates its own data centers. Delivered through our data center campus model, we provide our customers with secure, scalable and high-performance data hosting solutions.

DATA4 VALUES

At DATA4 we are driven by our values. These are the core of everything we do – from the proactivity we show in delivering great outcomes for our clients, to the responsibility we show as a key contributor to the digital economy. Our three values are:

  1. To be entrepreneurial – we are teams of doers who make things happen - with autonomy, energy and a sense of responsibility
  2. To always take responsibility – for our impact on the people we work with, the society we are part of, and the environment in which we operate
  3. To constantly be adaptable – our business is designed to adapt, answering not only today’s challenges, but also anticipating what’s coming next.
ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Training & Competency Expert will be responsible for managing and continuously improving the global training process. The Technical Training & Competency Expert supports the team in managing the trainings produced by the Operations Excellence teams, acting as the project manager of the end-to-end training lifecycle: planning, coordination, follow-up, completion tracking, escalation management, and reporting. The role also manages the onboarding process for new joiners and serves as the primary interface with HR for all training and onboarding-related matters. The Technical Training & Competency Expert will keep stakeholders and customers informed on the status of trainings, ensure the training tool is correctly configured to track who has and has not completed each training, and define KPIs and reports to measure the effectiveness of the process.

In this role, you will face dynamic challenges requiring strong project management, organization, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate must possess significant experience managing processes or follow-up activities in large or multi-stakeholder organizations, working effectively with HR, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams, and contributing to continuous process improvement. This is a process and coordination role, not a content-creation or instructional-design role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Process:
  • Define and establish global training policies and frameworks for the organization.
  • Own the training process and supporting documentation from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
  • Approve changes related to the training process and lead the development of improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the quality of training programs and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote adherence to training processes and policies across all business units.
  • Align training Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with organizational objectives and ensure these goals are achieved.
  • Ensure that the training program aligns with business needs and the competency requirements of the Operation Excellence team.
  • Act as the main point of contact with HR on training and competency matters, ensuring alignment between the training process and HR's people development and competency frameworks.
  • Accountable for the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of the training plan, based on content provided by the Operations teams, for employees and stakeholders involved in the training process.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training interventions and recommend improvements based on feedback and performance data.
  • Own and manage the onboarding process for new joiners, coordinating with HR and Operations teams to ensure a structured and consistent onboarding experience.
Training Management:
  • Implement and oversee the global training strategy and define the end-to-end training process.
  • Coordinate with the Operations teams to schedule and organize training content into structured programs, and with HR to plan sessions, assign audiences, and integrate training into the broader competency framework.
  • Manage the follow-up of trainings and onboarding activities: track attendance and completion, send reminders, and handle escalations for overdue or missed trainings.
  • Verify that the training tool is correctly configured to reliably track who has completed and who has not completed each training.
  • Share regular updates with customers on the status of trainings (progress, completion rates, planned sessions).
  • Create reports and dashboards on training completion and define and monitor training KPIs.
  • Evaluate training outcomes and effectiveness through assessments and feedback.
  • Manage training budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving training methodologies and tools.
  • Collect feedback from participants, stakeholders, and HR to refine the training process and delivery methods.
  • Benchmark training practices against industry standards and suggest innovations.
RESPONSIBILITES IN TERMS OF IMS CERTIFICATIONS

Respect and enforce certification policies in terms:

  • H&S: Respect and enforce health and safety rules.
  • Environment: Respect and enforce environmental policies.
  • Information security: Respect and enforce information security policies
  • Energy: Respect and enforce the policy of reducing energy consumption.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, process management, or process ownership roles in large organizations; experience in training or L&D coordination is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent, or equivalent proven professional experience.
  • Proven experience managing global processes, programs, or projects involving multiple stakeholders and countries.
  • English: fluent.
Technical skills
  • Strong project management expertise: planning, follow-up, risk and escalation management, and reporting (PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent certification is a plus).
  • Effective communicator—proficient in written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and process/task tracking tools (e.g. Jira Service Management, Moodle) to plan, monitor, and report on training completion.
  • Ability to interface effectively with HR and translate business/competency needs into a structured, trackable training plan.
  • Analytical skills to build reports and define/monitor training KPIs.
Behavioral skills
  • Strong sense of confidentiality, integrity, and ethics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace change.
  • Innovative mindset focused on solutions and continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and structured in approach.
  • Strong team spirit and collaboration skills.
