Job summary

wpd windmanager seeks a Technical Manager (m/f/d) to supervise wind farm operations, ensuring performance and regulatory compliance. You will work with the Head of Operations and coordinate with O&M providers, subcontractors, and authorities to manage sites in France (Arras or Nantes) and travel to field locations as needed.

The role requires a Master’s degree in engineering or related field, and proven experience in wind energy operations, with fluent English and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Daily monitoring and analysis of wind farm operations, including alarms, faults, underperformance and safety-related issues.
• Monitoring technical contracts such as O&M, TSA and EPC agreements as well as KPIs (availability and performance).
• Monitoring and documenting regulatory compliance, particularly ICPE regulations and HSE requirements.
• Acting as main point of contact for technical stakeholders (O&M providers, subcontractors, government agencies, clients).
• Organizing and coordinating on-site interventions with service providers and others.
• Participating in regular on-site inspections.
• Preparing technical reports/docs for clients, investors, banks, PPA partners, authorities.
• Monitoring and supporting the implementation of technical/operational management systems.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of methods, tools and practices within Operations.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH US

As Technical Manager (m/f/d), you will report to the Head of Operations and be responsible for the technical supervision, performance and regulatory compliance of the sites operated by wpd windmanager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Daily monitoring and analysis of wind farm operations, including alarms, faults, underperformance and safety-related issues
• Monitoring technical contracts such as O&M, TSA and EPC agreements as well as the associated KPIs, including availability and performance
• Monitoring and documenting regulatory compliance, particularly regarding ICPE regulations, regulatory inspections and HSE requirements
• Acting as the main point of contact for our technical stakeholders, including O&M providers, subcontractors, government agencies and clients
• Organizing and coordinating on-site interventions with service providers and other relevant parties
• Taking part in regular on-site inspections
• Preparing technical reports and documentation for clients, investors, banks, PPA partners and authorities
• Monitoring and supporting the implementation of technical and operational management systems
• Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of methods, tools and practices within the Operations team

YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE THESE STRENGTHS TO US

• A Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field – or relevant professional experience in a comparable position
• Professional experience in wind farm operations; previous experience in the renewable energy sector is highly valued
• A good understanding of the French regulatory framework, particularly ICPE regulations as well as health and safety requirements
• Confidence in reading, understanding and analyzing technical contracts
• Good software and technology skills; experience with MS Office and SharePoint is an advantage
• Knowledge of the RotorSoft supervisory system is a plus
• Fluent spoken and written English
• A valid Category B driving licence
• Ability and willingness to work at height
• Willingness to travel regularly to field sites
• Motivation to learn and develop within the renewable energy sector
