Description du poste

At Madbox, we empower our teams to push boundaries, take ownership, and unleash their creativity to craft innovative mobile games that engage millions. If you're passionate about game-making and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, join us as the Tech Manager of Pocket Champs in our mission to create the next generation of hit games!

As Tech Manager, you are the technical owner of Pocket Champs - you lead the 5 to 8 developers across its four tracks and act as the Game Director's technical counterpart, turning their vision and the designers' plans into one coherent technical roadmap. This role leads and guides rather than builds: you set the technical direction, grow the developers, and protect a live game played by millions. You won't be handed a roadmap to execute: you'll be in the room where the game's future gets decided.

Scope and Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow the devs: 1:1s, feedback, and performance for 5 to 8 devs sitting in separate tracks. You grow them on both the hard and the soft skills, and keep knowledge spreading so no topic lives in one person's head.

  • Be the Game Director's technical counterpart: bring feasibility, cost, and risk into vision conversations, then turn that vision and the designers' plans into one coherent technical roadmap

  • Own the technical direction: you set the architecture and quality standards, review the work that matters, and own the shared tech so no two tracks solve the same problem twice. You decide when to pause and fix foundations rather than keep content flowing.

  • Protect the live game: you own the risk of every change that reaches players, and you put the safe rollouts, review gates, and rollback plans in place so protection never depends on vigilance alone

  • Keep content shipping across every track: you coordinate the dev work, decide who sits on which track, arbitrate when two tracks both want more than exists, and make sure the dev team is never what holds up a release

  • Build the workflows that connect the team to everyone else: how devs and game designers collaborate on a feature, how art gets into the game, and how the team works with QA, Data, and UA

  • Make the team AI-first: bring AI into the everyday workflow, set the bar for using it well, and turn it into real velocity on live content without losing quality

Profile we are looking for
  • 8+ years in game development, and you've led a team of developers, at least 5, owning their performance and growth rather than just their tickets

  • You've worked on a live free-to-play game at scale, ideally one that grew while you were there: recurring content, remotely configured features, safe rollouts. You know what breaks in production

  • Deep Unity production expertise (Addressables, Remote Settings, CDN, online/social features), with the credibility to set standards and defend technical calls without writing the code

  • You've already made the shift from building to leading, and you want to stay on that side, while keeping your technical judgement sharp

  • You're comfortable being the person accountable when a change threatens a live game, and you'd rather build processes than rely on vigilance

  • A real point of view on AI in a development workflow and where it changes how a team builds

  • Advanced level of English

Nice to have
  • Analytics literacy: planning tracking before a feature ships, reading the data, working with analysts

  • Experience building generic, reusable modules across teams or projects

  • A commercial read on live games: what moves retention and revenue, not only what ships

At Madbox, we value the mindset and how you can fit with our culture by sharing common values and creating great games together. We are passionate, always pushing to the next level to learn new things. We are creative and innovative, and most of all, team players!
