Job summary

Sonepar in Paris is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of complex software systems. You will own the full software development lifecycle, mentor engineers and collaborate with product managers and architects to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .Net, Java, Python.
• Extensive experience with software design principles and architectures.
• Solid understanding of database design, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement the architectural design and technical specifications for software projects, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and maintenance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture within the team.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, lead architects, designers, and other cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.
• Tackle complex technical challenges and provide creative solutions to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, API documentation, and coding guidelines.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring that software applications meet or exceed performance expectations.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our software development processes.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning among team members.

The experience you bring

• Proven experience (7+ years) as a Software Engineer, with a track record of delivering complex software projects.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, .Net, Java, Python).
• Extensive experience with software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Solid understanding of database design, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Work Mode & Location

- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) after the trial period
