Sonepar, the world leader in B-to-B electrical distribution, is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to lead design, development and implementation of complex software systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive architecture, coding standards and performance improvements across multiple projects in an international, hybrid Paris-based environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of proven software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, Java and Python.
• Solid understanding of database design, SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and code reviews.

Responsabilités

• Lead architectural design and implement technical specifications for software projects.
• Own the full SDLC from coding to deployment and maintenance.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
• Collaborate with product managers, lead architects, designers and cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams and coding guidelines.

How will you shape our tomorrow

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems and applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical expertise to drive innovation and excellence in our software development processes.

What Success Look Like

• Implement the architectural design and technical specifications for software projects, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and maintenance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture within the team.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, lead architects, designers, and other cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.
• Tackle complex technical challenges and provide creative solutions to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, API documentation, and coding guidelines.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring that software applications meet or exceed performance expectations.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our software development processes.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning among team members.

The experience you bring

• Proven experience (7+ years) as a Software Engineer, with a track record of delivering complex software projects.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, .Net, Java, Python).
• Extensive experience with software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Solid understanding of database design, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Work Mode & Location

- Hybrid: 3 days in Paris (8ème) after the trial period
