Job summary

Alstom in Villeurbanne is seeking a System Engineer to advance Remote Driving technologies. You will join a multidisciplinary team, shaping the future of mobility by developing advanced train control solutions and collaborating with system architects, validation teams, software and electronics engineers.

You will capture needs, define specifications, support testing in labs and on-site, and contribute to architecture decisions while producing clear technical documentation for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or a master’s degree.
• Initial experience in complex system design, hardware and/or software development.
• Experience in system engineering, architecture, and interface management.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Flexibility to travel (France and/or abroad).

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, and formalize customer, operational, and business needs related to Remote Driving solutions.
• Develop and maintain system specifications, including functional and operational requirements, interfaces, and constraints (performance, availability, safety, cybersecurity, maintainability).
• Contribute to system architecture and design activities, such as system modeling, design studies, prototyping, and technical decision-making.
• Produce technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the validation strategy and ensure follow-up on detected issues for prototypes.
• Promote Alstom’s Code of Ethics and uphold high ethical standards.
