Job Title: Sustainable Investment/ESG Data Analyst

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced ESG Data Operations Analyst to join our Sustainable Investment Data Operations team in Paris! This role is pivotal in supporting the operational delivery of ESG data processes that support FTSE Sustainable Investment indices, with a strong focus on regulatory reporting, delivery of process transparency, exception documentation, and vendor accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate ESG datasets from multiple vendors, ensuring alignment with index methodology and operational accuracy.
  • Maintain the ESG Data Challenge Board, tracking issues raised across all ESG vendors. Maintain documentation and justification logs for data exceptions and sign-off processes.
  • Record and track the use of Expert Judgement in ESG operational processes, ensuring transparency and consistency.
  • Monitor and analyze ESG data trends to detect anomalies, gaps, or inconsistencies in vendor feeds.
  • Produce reports on recurring or critical vendor data issues, assist in calculating vendor SLAs and communicate trends to internal partners and vendor relationship managers.
  • Raise data quality or methodology-related questions to Index Policy teams and ensure proper alignment of operational processes.
  • Coordinate operational contributions to internal and external ESG regulatory reporting, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal partners including Risk, Governance, Product and Engineering to meet cross-functional data and reporting goals.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in ESG data operations within an investment, index, or data services environment.
  • Good understanding of ESG data structures, vendor processes, and sustainable investment screening approaches.
  • Demonstrable experience documenting operational processes and dealing with exceptions, handling controls.
  • Experience producing operational process maps and audit-ready documentation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and UK SDR, especially from a data operations and reporting standpoint.
  • Good communication skills, with fluency in English.
