Our client is a global innovator in building and industrial materials, transforming the way we design and build through advanced insulation, roofing, and fiberglass composite solutions. With a deep commitment to sustainability, safety, and performance, they create products that make homes, buildings, and communities more resilient, energy-efficient, and sustainable, improving quality of life around the world.

We’re looking for an Sustainability Expert to help drive our client’s ambitious sustainability agenda. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in operationalizing the Data Governance Framework across Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Risk Management, turning environmental strategy into a measurable impact.

You’ll leverage data analytics, governance metrics, and regulatory expertise to ensure compliance, enable climate action, and embed sustainability into core business processes. This person will ideally be based around Lyon, France but candidates can also be located across France, Belgium, Spain and Italy.

About the Role :
  • Monitor evolving environmental laws and standards to ensure compliance and strategic alignment across regions.
  • Translate global sustainability ambitions into actionable policies and performance-driven action plans across functions.
  • Lead the collection, validation, and analysis of environmental data, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct legal research on environmental regulations, aligning Planet KPIs with global science-based targets and local requirements.
  • Develop and oversee environmental risk models to identify, monitor, and mitigate compliance and sustainability risks.
  • Collaborate across functions and with external partners to integrate sustainability into business decisions using data-driven tools.
  • Contribute to sustainability reporting (CSRD format), EcoVadis certification, and the broader Sustainable Development Report.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on environmental regulations and sustainability practices
  • Establish governance dashboards to track progress against objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports on sustainability metrics and compliance status to senior management.
What We’re Looking For :
  • Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Environmental Policy, Law, or a related field.
  • Certifications in environmental law, compliance, or sustainability are a plus
  • 5 years of experience in environmental regulations and compliance. with deep understanding of international environmental laws
  • Strong understanding of environmental laws, ESG reporting, and sustainability best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for driving real-world environmental impact
  • Experience working in large complex organisations preferred.
  • Excellent regulatory research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Hands‑on mentality and strong problem‑solving skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Creative thinking mentality with eagerness to learn
