IPVF – Photovoltaic Institute of Île-deFrance in Paris-Saclay invites a Master 2 student to join an internship with CNRS, developing an optical device to characterize solar modules.
You will work on waveguides, optics, spectroscopy, and power measurement, with simulation and dimensioning tasks, in a clean room environment.
This research-focused internship offers hands-on experimental experience and collaboration with leading solar energy researchers.
Position: Intern (M/F)
Contract: Internship agreement with the CNRS
Education: Master 2 in Physics/Optics

The Île-de-France Photovoltaic Institute (IPVF), an institute for energy transition created in 2013, is a scientific and technical hub dedicated to the research and development of solar technologies . Located at its Paris-Saclay site, it brings together its own staff, employees of its partners, and those of external companies. The IPVF aims to become one of the world's leading centers for research, innovation, and training in the field of energy transition.
The IPVF's primary objective is to improve the performance and competitiveness of photovoltaic cells and to develop disruptive technologies by focusing on four key areas:
Brief history:
The IPVF was founded in 2013 at the initiative of the French State, EDF, TotalEnergies, Air Liquide, CNRS, Ecole Polytechnique, Horiba and Riber. Bringing together more than 150 researchers, our 8,000 m² platform in Paris-Saclay is a one-stop shop for all types of deep tech research and innovation.
This internship is part of a collaborative project aimed at developing new methods for characterizing solar panels. We are looking for a curious and proactive candidate capable of successfully managing various aspects of research and technological development. The internship will involve designing and characterizing an optical device to assess the proper functioning of a solar cell within a module.
The internship will take place at the IPVF.
The experiments will be carried out in a clean room.
