Job summary

Swile is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to strengthen the security of our products, data and engineering platform. This highly technical role collaborates with engineering teams to harden systems and help design the next generation of our security architecture.

You will operate across two horizons: today’s hardening and tomorrow’s privacy architecture, focusing on secure engineering practices that scale across hundreds of engineers and data protection across the stack.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building or securing production software and distributed systems.
• Ability to read and write production code and work with engineering teams.
• Strong security engineering expertise across multiple areas listed.

Responsibilities

• Identify and reduce high-impact security risks across apps, APIs and internal tools.
• Strengthen authentication, authorization and access controls.
• Improve protection of sensitive data and privacy.
• Design controls that limit blast radius of compromised accounts.
• Improve security monitoring, auditability and detection.
• Perform threat modelling and targeted reviews.
• Build reusable security capabilities into the engineering platform.
• Partner with teams to address systemic risks rather than individual findings.
