DKSH in Europe seeks a Specialist, Chemical Product Safety Europe to ensure compliance, labeling and safety documentation for chemical products across the EU, UK, and Switzerland. You will contribute within a 12-person regulatory team to protect product integrity and support DKSH's European network.

The role is based in multiple European hubs including Miribel, Barcelona, Porto or Warsaw, with a focus on CLP classifications, SDS authoring and ongoing regulatory monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), SDS authoring, and chemical product regulations (including REACH and CLP).
  • Proficient in English; proficiency in another European language is a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Analyze data to support risk prevention and hazard assessment.
  • Determine classification of substances and mixtures per CLP, UK and Swiss rules.
  • Assess dangerous goods classification per ADR, IMDG, IATA.
  • Author and maintain SDSs and CLP labels for DKSH Europe.
  • Review suppliers SDSs, product compositions and data for compliance gaps.
  • Monitor evolving chemical regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Notify classified mixtures to Poison Control Centers across Europe.
  • Educate internal stakeholders on hazard management and labeling.

About The Role

The Specialist, Chemical Product Safety Europe is responsible for ensuring the compliance, classification, labelling and safety documentation of chemical products distributed by DKSH across the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Embedded within a 12-person regulatory team, this position plays a critical role in protecting product integrity and enabling the consistent, compliant operation of DKSH's network of nine European subsidiaries.

This role is open to candidates based in Miribel (France), Barcelona (Spain), Porto (Portugal) or Warsaw (Poland).

What You Will Deliver
  • Analyze physicochemical, toxicological, and ecotoxicological data to support comprehensive risk prevention and hazard assessment
  • Determine the classification of substances and mixtures according to the criteria of the CLP Regulation and applicable UK and Swiss requirements
  • Assess Dangerous Goods classification and transport requirements in accordance with ADR, IMDG and IATA regulations
  • Author and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and CLP-compliant labels for chemical products purchased and marketed within the DKSH Group in Europe, using dedicated SDS authoring software
  • Critically review suppliers SDSs, product compositions, test data and other supporting regulatory documentation to identifies inconsistencies, data gaps or potential non-compliances
  • Monitor evolving chemical regulations and ensure the ongoing compliance of classified products within all applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Manage the notification of classified mixtures to Poison Control Centers across relevant European markets
  • Train and raise awareness among key internal stakeholders, including Sales Managers, Sales Support teams, Research and Development (R&D) laboratories, and warehouse staff, on the proper handling, hazard management, and labeling of distributed chemical products
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain required regulatory information, clarify classification , and resolve product safety or documentation issues
  • Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required
What You Bring
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, or a related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of solid experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring, and chemical product regulations, including REACH and CLP regulations
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in one or more European language is preferred
  • Rigorous, committed, and pragmatic, with a genuine interest in regulatory and chemical safety topics
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse internal stakeholders
