LA International seeks a Solutions Architect for a client in Strasbourg, France. This contract/freelance role runs for 160 days initially (roughly six months) and is fully onsite, five days per week.

Candidates must be eligible for EU Secret clearance and will design, model and implement architecture solutions across software, cloud and data projects with an international team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in at least one architecture sub-role (technology, data or applications/services).
• Experience across software, cloud and data projects.
• Hands-on with architecture tools such as Sparx EA.
• Strong knowledge of IT skills including security, networking and data management.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in an international/multicultural environment.

Our client in Strasbourg, France is looking for a Solutions Architect to join their team.

This is a contract/freelance position for 160 day initially (around 6 months to start).

Please note that this role is fully onsite in Strasbourg, 5 days per week.

Due to nature of the role candidates need to be eligible to EU Secret clearance.

Nature of tasks:

• Understand, interpret and respond to detailed business requirements specifications and implement that requirements understanding in the architecture solutions and specifications;

• Perform the tasks linked to the roles of a technology, data or applications/services architect; Customize and use the architecture, modelling or design tools to develop;

• Based on the user requirements, design the required conceptual architecture models using Agency architectural standard tools, define the components of the solution, and analyze the components from existing systems that can be reused. Show multiple views through models to communicate the proposals effectively; Define the most suitable architecture solutions and the best technology solutions among all possible to assist the business in meeting their business objectives;

• Design, develop, test and deploy customized artefacts (reports, data export and import scripts, diagrams and objects layouts and design, tool configuration, etc.) according to a set of requirements;

• Work on evolving the architecture models during the lifecycle of the architecture solutions by adding new technology evolutions and integrate expected requirements;

• Ensure correct IT design is implemented for the functional and nonfunctional requirements by providing the required information and specifications to the project team. Provide required support in resolution of problems during the development, testing and operational activities;

• Develop, test and implement technology solutions and report on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes;

• Identify system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands to ensure project deliverables are achieved;

• Assess the usage of the Contracting Authority’s modelling tools and advice on governance, conventions, procedures, methods, customisations and/or configurations that should ensure its most effective usage

Knowledge and skills:

• Excellent knowledge of architecture solutions design and modelling and project management;

• Solutions Architecture and Design experience across a broad portfolio of software, cloud and / or data projects;

• Hands-on knowledge in the administration, customization and use of the architecture, modelling or design tools (e.g. Sparx EA);

• Being able to perform at least one of the following sub-roles: technology architect, data architect, applications/services architect;

• Excellent knowledge of key IT skills: software engineering, security, system and network management, transaction processing, location and directory, user interface, international operations, data interchange, data

management, graphics and image, operating system services, network services, communications infrastructure;

• Experience of on-premise, virtualization and cloud-based Infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS);

• Experience of working in an agile software development environment;

• Experience and knowledge of OCP, Postgres and Kafka

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms;

• Knowledge of security best practices and tools;

• Capacity in writing and presenting documents;

• Excellent communication skills;

• Experience and willingness of working in an international/multicultural environment.

• Biometrics knowledge is advantageous

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in at least one of the following sub-roles: technology architect, data architect, applications/services architect.
