Orion Animal Health in Arques, France, seeks a Solution Architect to lead OT & IT architecture with hybrid work options and occasional travel. You will partner with Animal Health Operations, Transformation Office, Orion Corporate IT, and external vendors to digitalise the OT landscape for real‑time, data‑driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT, software engineering, computer science or equivalent.
• Experience as a Solution Architect or similar role.
• Understanding of IT technologies (networks, firewalls, databases, servers, Active Directory, DNS, SSO, APIs, etc.).
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work across multiple organizations and stakeholders.

• OT & IT architecture ownership: Develop and maintain OT & IT system architecture, including configuration management, technical changes, lifecycle management.
• Solution delivery & project support: Design, develop and maintain IT solutions within the OT landscape; support projects during development and implementation phases; contribute to data‑driven decision making.

About the role

As a Solution Architect, you are responsible for managing and developing the solution architecture within the Animal Health OT and IT system landscape, in line with Orion’s IT architecture processes. You act as a solution expert providing technical support on the OT environment, with the role split approximately 50/50 between architectural responsibilities and technical expert support. You will work closely with Animal Health Operations, the Transformation Office, Orion Corporate IT, and external partners such as vendors and infrastructure providers to drive digitalisation of the OT system landscape, enabling real‑time, data‑driven decision‑making. Your location is Arques (France), with hybrid working possibilities and occasional travel between sites.

Responsibilities

OT & IT architecture ownership

• Develop and maintain OT & IT system architecture, including configuration management, technical changes, lifecycle management.
• Ensure implementation follows defined architecture standards and business requirements.

Solution delivery & project support

• Design, develop and maintain IT solutions within the OT landscape.
• Support projects during development and implementation phases.
• Contribute to digitalisation enabling real‑time, data‑driven decision‑making.

Supply, vendor & lifecycle management

• Manage and optimise system lifecycle.
• Participate in RFP processes and vendor evaluations.

Business & stakeholder alignment

• Assess business needs from an architectural perspective.
• Work closely with cross‑functional and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in IT, software engineering, computer science or equivalent.
• Experience as a Solution Architect or similar role.
• Understanding of IT technologies (networks, firewalls, databases, servers, Active Directory, DNS, SSO, APIs, etc.).
• Initiative, decision‑making ability and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work across multiple organizations and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and French.

Nice to Have

• Experience in pharma or process industry (GxP).
• IT service management frameworks.
• Multi‑vendor environment experience.
• Architecture modelling experience.
• Agile / DevOps / project management exposure.
• Familiarity with modern architecture or integration/data platforms.
