Kardex is seeking a software project manager to lead Warehouse Execution System projects from initiation to go-live at client sites, acting as the key liaison between clients, internal teams and development groups. You will translate requirements into actionable system concepts and ensure project success.

Ideal candidates hold a CS/SE degree with early project management experience, plus exposure to logistics environments, and strong German and English language skills.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Initial practical IT or software project management experience
• Experience in industrial, automated or logistics environments is a plus
• Knowledge of warehouse systems such as WES, WCS or WMS is a plus
• Experience working with interdisciplinary and international teams
• Basic understanding of software development processes and system integrations
• Analytical thinking with a structured, solution-oriented approach
• High self-motivation, willingness to learn and professional development
• Fluent in German and English

Location: one of our sites in EMEA - Madrid, Lissabon, Milan or Paris

Your tasks

• You will lead software projects within the Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) from project initiation through to successful go-live with clients.
• You will act as the key point of contact between our clients, internal departments and development teams.
• You will analyse client requirements, advise on suitable solutions and translate these requirements into actionable system concepts.
• You ensure that projects are successfully implemented in terms of quality, schedule and customer satisfaction.
• You review, edit and coordinate key project documents such as:
• Technical specifications
• IT specifications
• Interface specifications
• You identify opportunities for optimisation and drive continuous improvement.
• You will support the development of standards, best practices and scalable solutions within Kardex.

Your profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.

• Initial practical experience in IT or software project management, ideally on projects that have been implemented or rolled out for clients.

• Experience in industrial, automated or logistics environments is an advantage.

• Knowledge of warehouse systems such as WES, WCS or WMS is a plus.

• Experience of working with interdisciplinary and international teams.

• A basic understanding of software development processes and system integrations.

• Analytical thinking and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work.

• High levels of self-motivation, a willingness to learn and a desire to develop both professionally and personally.

• Very good written and spoken German and English.

Working Arrangements & Travel

Approx. 10% travel within Europe as part of client projects.
Residence near one of our German Kardex sites or a willingness to travel accordingly.
