Checkout.com is hiring a Software Engineer in France to join a global engineering community and build next-generation payments tech that boosts merchant acceptance and reduces costs.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy software across microservices, mentor peers, and learn new technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role offers a hybrid model with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in C# .NET, Java, or Go with backend or full-stack skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction abilities.
• Experience in agile environments delivering high-quality code.
• Strong problem-solving and independent teamwork.
• AI-proficiency or AI-curiosity to leverage latest tech.
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus but not required.

We're looking for Software engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about working in an Engineering environment which focuses on building products to achieve the company's strategic goals. You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy.

As a Software engineer, you will lead and drive specific projects critical to Checkout's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display exceptional leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. With your technical expertise you will lead project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

What are we looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in C# .NET, Java, or Go, with a strong understanding of software development principles in either a backend or full stack environment.
• Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code within tight deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Someone who is AI proficient or AI curious, you will be hungry to embrace what the latest technology has to offer to enhance yours and your teams productivity
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity
